Adult 2 Day Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England Training

The two-day Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course qualifies you as Mental Health First Aider. You will learn to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill-health and provide first aid support to someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue.  You will gain:

  • an in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing

  • practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues

  • confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress

  • enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening

  • knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mixture

Learning takes place across four manageable sessions. Through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan. The sessions are:

  • Session 1 - Mental Health First Aid, mental health and depression.

  • Session 2 - Depression (cont.) and suicidal crisis.

  • Session 3 - Anxiety, personality disorders, eating disorders and self-harm.

  • Session 4 - Psychosis, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

The course is taught in small groups so that attendees feel safe and supported while they learn.  Everyone who completes the course gets:

  • A manual to refer to whenever you need it

  • A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health

  • A certificate of attendance to say you are a Mental Health First Aider

The value of this course is £300+vat per person or £3500 for an in-house course for up to 16 people.
