Adult 2 Day Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England Training - £270
The two-day face to face or online Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course qualifies you as Mental Health First Aider.
You will learn to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill-health and provide first aid support to someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue.
The course gives you:
an in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mixture
Learning takes place across four self-directed learning sessions and four online manageable sessions. Through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan. The sessions covers:
Mental Health First Aid, mental health and depression.
Depression and suicidal crisis.
Anxiety, personality disorders, eating disorders and self-harm.
Psychosis, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Everyone who completes the course gets:
A manual to refer to whenever you need it
A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health
A certificate of attendance to say you are a Mental Health First Aider
Face to Face Venue - Croydon
Face to face training is held in a light and comfortable venue with social distancing measures and small groups. This is to provide a safe, supportive and enjoyable space for learners. Training takes place at the following venue:
Sussex Innovation Centre (Croydon)
12-16 Addiscombe Road. Croydon. CRO 0XT
(opposite East Croydon Station and 10 minutes walk from West Croydon Station)
